No Darius doesn't. Darius is a tactician, and if everyone came to him crying wanting something word would quickly get around that's how you get your way with the General Which really is a poor model for promoting anyone or giving them what they'd like.

Need I also remind that Aileeron nearly killed Darius at least once and were it not for quick reflexes on the General's part, probably would have.

He's a General, he has to remove emotion from the job even though he himself is in agony right now. He's not going to give Al what he wants because he's crying/upset. If anything that's a sign that the Lion is too unstable for being Darius' second. Which lets be honest it would be like you going to your CEO, crying, and asking to be vice president of the company. You'd be laughed out of the office.
