"Gentle" has a very loose definition. Still, he can't be worse then Titan was.

I think it's more to do with that the two have conflicting interests. It won't matter how gentle he is, the two are gonna butt heads eventually... Unless I misunderstood.

What he means by being more gentle than Titan is he won't commit mass genocide and take over by force. Darnathi colonize planets traditionally by breeding with the general population over generations until the halfbreeds are indistinguishable from the Native species. Titan wanted to go scorched earth. Of the two dominators Tung has a milder and longer term approach than Fox who wants true global domination.
